PROLOGUE

Today I am getting married. The sacred fire burning in front of me is the witness to it. I was adorned with jwellery and a heavy bridal lehenga. My eyes calm which is a stark contrast with the turmoil inside me .

Beside me stood , Viaansh Mehrotra. My going to be husband or should I say my first love. He stood beside me. The anger and coldness on his face was impossible to miss. He hates me . His jaw clenched with rage .

Suddenly he looked at me . His eyes cold and stern . His one glare was enough to send shivers down my spine. He whispered ," welcome back to my life , scarlet." It was not a taunt more like a threat.

My mind and body frozen . Blood in my veins rushed. Everything was blurred and suffocating. My mind was full of turmoil . He is a storm that can destroy me. He married for revenge not love. The voice of pandit ji pulled me out of my trance.

The hall echoed with cheers and claps . The rituals were completed. Now we are husband and wife. Suddenly a old woman in her 70s walked towards me and placed her hands on my head and blessed me.

I was too tired to react to say . Everything changed . My life changed in a single night.

Then his parents came towards us . I bend towards their feet taking their blessings. Stay always happy his mother said with a bright smile

Then his unce and aunt can she hugged me . Embraced me in he warmth . Her smile bought a strange feeling in my chest . Peace , after a long time I had it . A thing my life took it from me every time I try to find it.

There was no energy left in me. My sister came beside me . She smiled at me . I missed her. I wanted hug her and cry in her arms but the reality was I could never do that.

My father - my light in the darkness. My comfort my everything. His eyes was weld up with tears. I just wanted to hug him . He paced his hands on my reassuring me .

The night was silent and long. I sat in car . Beside me he was driving. His hands firm on wheel . He said nothing. His eyes fixed on the road . Everything thing suffocated me . My mind was Whirlpool of questions. The car stopped. He came and opened the door for me . Our eyes met briefly.

I stood in front of the mansion. I stared at the beautiful ancient mansion. It screamed royalty and power. It was monumental.

He is a royal . We walked towards the house. Just as we were going to enter . His mother said stop.

She was standing in front of us carrying the thalli of aarti.the diya was glowing in the darkness. Her smile could make any one feel comfortable. It was full of blessings.

Then his father came towards us with a bundle of notes. He stood in front of me waving the money in circles. I was surprised by this act. "Pehle muje apni beti ki Nazar utarne to do ". It meant many things to me . His mother placed a kalash at the threshold. And lovingly said " ise pear se kalash ko girayiyr aur andar ajayiye "

I bent a little genty kicking the kalesh . It rolled across the floor .then she asked me to dip my feet in the red alta. With than I took my first step inside.

My footprint leaving mark on the ground I enter the house . It was a new beginning for me. Everyone welcomed me warmly except him .

His mother took me to his room . She left me outside his room . I stepped inside . As soon as I entered I met up with his cold and harsh voice.

"Your mother left me here " my voice devoid of emotions.

He smirked, "same old emotionless Yuvika. I thought you would have changed but no . You will never change".

I didn't answer anything. I stared at him .

"Mrs. Yuvika Viaansh Mehrotra, I like this name . More like mine ."
